Sasha Harriott
Director of Conservation
Sasha grew up in the foothills of Southern Alberta in the small town of Black Diamond and spent endless hours along the Sheep River swimming, fishing and camping, fostering an appreciation and love of the natural environment.
Sasha has a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Environmental Studies from the University of Lethbridge. She also holds a diploma in Renewable Resource Management from Lethbridge College. After spending four years exploring the province of Alberta working as a wildland firefighter with the Government of Alberta, Sasha joined the team of riparian enthusiasts with Cows and Fish. She spent four years inventorying Alberta’s riparian areas, building relationships and further developing her passion for conservation of Alberta’s natural landscapes. Sasha joined the Prairie Conservation Forum in 2008 as a Coordinator and proudly worked with the Board of Directors and many enthusiastic volunteer led committees over 16 years to achieve conservation actions on Alberta’s prairie and parkland areas.
Sasha lives in the Crowsnest pass with her husband and four extremely active children. She attempts to keep up with her kids on mountain bikes and skis and you can find her running the mountain trails chasing the sunrise on most mornings. Sasha is excited to be a part of a grass roots organization that is focused on helping the ranching community protect the land to support clean water, wildlife diversity and healthy lifestyles.
